If you’re a 10m band addict but don’t want to spend a fortune on commercially made yagi antennas then take a look at this antenna, it’s easy to construct, has a high gain at a very low angle an should be great for DX on 10m!

It’s based on 2 x horizontal loop antennas set 8m apart with the lower element being driven. Feed this antenna with 300 ohm ladder line with a simple balun and ATU arrangement to match it to your 50 ohm transmitter and receiver.

If you are happy to have slightly less gain then you can use just the lower loop on it’s own at 10m above the ground.

Dimensions:
                        Wires 1 & 4 18.3m
                        All other wires 12.2296m

Wire diameter 2.5mm
Lower loop is 10m above ground and upper loop 18m above ground.
The antenna must be insulated from any supports.

(Figures calculated with the antenna above average ground with copper wire loss taken into consideration.)
